As artists ourselves, we see the importance of a strong community of creatives in NW Indiana. We believe it is our responsibility to work in tandem with our local artists, arts organizations, and creative professionals. Ancillaerie aids in the growth of emerging artists and help maintain established artists with various promotions and donations. We also showcase local and regional artists in our gallery space and rotate our exhibits on a regular basis.
Undeniably, there is an underlying element of the natural world and avifauna in Ancillaerie. We firmly believe that nature is our most beloved muse and should be regarded as highly as our quality standards and aesthetic ideals. We support the stewardship of our bird life, native environment, and local conservation efforts.

Kristina Knowski moved to NW Indiana after graduating valedictorian from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. While studying for her fine art degree, she started picture framing in 2011 and expanded her skills enough to work at the legendary Framing Concepts in Chesterton in 2015. Her experience there inspired her to create her own frame shop in 2024 after building a foundation in NW Indiana as a professional artist and dedicated picture framer to fellow artists. Her fine art specializes in birds in watercolor and is involved with Indiana Audubon and the Indiana Dunes Birding Festival since 2016.
